The design was not successful and was only manufactured in small numbers. ![]() Mauser submitted a design which met all the requirements known as the G41(M). In the case of such a failure the rifle must be manually loaded similarly to the Model 98. If the automatic mechanism fails, the use of the rifle must not be halted.
